Aleph by Paulo Coelho

Remember that? That was a post last November 30, 2012.

Finally last March, I finished reading the book, Aleph hahaha (lozer me! xD) I usually just read books whenever I'm bored. I'm really lazy in reading books most especially novels. Well, Congratulations to me! 

First of all, I decided to read a book of Paulo Coelho it's because of how critics used to describe him, most especially his book, Aleph. They said, Coelho is really a good writer, so I search him up on Google and gladly discovered his background. He truly is a great writer. I suppose to read The Alchemist first because of its spectacular success, but I wasn't able to see a copy of it at National Bookstore in SM so I grabbed the Aleph book next to Nicholas Sparks' books on the rack. 

Well, with each book we read, there's always a moral learning in the book that will make us realize something.The book inspired me how to live our life to its finest. You will really be magnified by every word that Paulo Coelho used with his book, Aleph. 

Just a little background: 

Aleph is a story of Coelho's journey in searching for his partner whom he loved 500 years ago. It teaches love, forgiveness, and the courage to overcome life's inevitable challenges.

Let me share to you some of the lines in the book that really made me reflect to its deepest meaning.

Here it is.  :)

-If you want to see a rainbow, you have to learn to like the rain. ~Yao~

-I am in the Aleph, the point at which everything is in the same place at the same time. ~Paulo~

-Our eyes have become the mirrors of our souls, mirrors not only of our souls, perhaps but of all the souls of all the people on this planet who are at this moment walking, loving, being born and dying, suffering or dreaming.

-Do you believe in a spiritual world, in a parallel universe, where time and space are eternal and always present? ~Yao~

-Writing is no different from any other activity done with joy and enthusiasm.

-Don't be intimated but other people's opinions, only mediocrity is sure of itself, so take risks and do what you really want to do.

-Your mind must be in harmony with the Universe. Your body must keep pace with the Universe. You and the Universe are one. 

-If you conquer yourself, then you will conquer the world.

-Once learned, we never forget it.

Hilal: It was the Aleph. 

Publisher: I published a mathematics book with that word in the title. In technical language, it means the number that contains all numbers.

-Dreamers can never be tamed.  ~Yao~

-Forgiveness works only if you accept it.

Reporter: What does God mean to you?

Paulo: Anyone who knows God cannot describe Him. Anyone who can describe God does not know Him.

-We are not the person other people wish we were. We are who we decide to be. It's always easy to blame others. You can spend your entire life blaming the world, but your successes or failures are entirely your own responsibility. You can try to stop time, but it's a complete waste of energy.

-Love always triumphs over what we call death. That's why there's no need to grieve for our loved ones, because they continue to be loved and remain by our side. It's hard to accept that.

-People aren't used to that way of thinking. They want everything to stay the same.

-We are all souls wandering the Cosmos and, at the same time, living our lives, but with a sense that we are passing from one incarnation to another. If something touches the code of our soul, it is remembered forever and  affects whatever comes afterward.

-We can never wound the soul, just as we can never wound God, but we can become imprisoned by our memories, and that makes our lives wretched even when we have everything we need in order to be happy.

-To live is to experience things, not to sit around pondering the meaning of life.

- Things aren't always the way we expect them to be.

-Our dreams are our second life. I am incapable of going through the doors that lead us to that invisible world without shiver.

-When the rain returns to earth, it brings with it the things of the air. The magical and the extraordinary are with me and with everyone in the Universe all the time, but sometimes we forget and need to be reminded, even if we have to cross the largest continent in the world from one side to the other.

-Life is a dream from which we wake only when we meet death. Time passes while we live. I'm a musician, and I have to deal with the time of musical notation everyday. If time didn't exist, there would be no music. ~Hilal~

-Music isn't a succession of notes. It's the constant movement of a note between sound and silence. ~Paulo~

-Only two things can reveal life's great secrets: suffering and love.
